What do the dishes look like from which you want to eat (but this is not accurate)
What needs to be done to make the food even tastier? “Food – and without that one complete pleasure,” – you will say, but we will agree. But we will be right, in fairness, only in part. Scientists have already established that the taste of the dish can be influenced not only by the rudeness of the waiter , but also by the beautiful presentation . And this means that perfectly selected plates can make useful food much tastier. And it, you see, sounds great.
The main hero of this story is Will Fazackerley, a graduate of the Royal College of Art, who decided to create dishes that can enhance the pleasure that we receive from food. And it is worth saying that he went beyond the classical color rules that the blue color of the dish makes the food less tasty, and the red and orange are just the opposite. His dishes are exceptionally white. But it looks at least a work of art, and as a maximum – the creation of some extraterrestrial civilization.
The question is whether it is really possible to enjoy food from it, while remaining open.
Called Nourish, the project so far does not include so many elements – a drinking vessel called Slurp, intended for soups , and a couple of Lick objects created for licking food. According to Fazakerli, he wanted to come up with an alternative to traditional dishes, which he always considered too limited to make the enjoyment of food even more … long … … bright? … absorbing? Perhaps the first, the second, and the third.
“We eat mainly for two reasons: the need to maintain the energy balance and the expectation of pleasure,” Will Fazakerli continues. “Nourish replaces the pleasure of eating with the pleasure of interacting with the tools that we use, thus reducing our dependence on the food itself.”
Another unexpected component of the collection is a pair of objects called Lick, which are designed for products such as mousses, ganache, risotto and ice cream . They are a combo made from a plate and thick, but hollow inside the “wand” with softly curved surfaces, inspired, according to Fazakerli, by the act of licking itself.
Despite the fact that while the dishes Nourish was enthusiastically accepted only at the presentation of the graduation projects of the Royal College of Art, she believes college teachers, a great future. And what do you think about this?
