The slope of Michael Jackson: neurosurgeons figured out the secret

Pop-king Michael Jackson is known not only for his creativity, but also for amazing dance movements, which are still being copied by his fans around the world. Some people manage to master the famous “moon walk”, but it is impossible to repeat some of the movements to the majority of dancers. Among them – the famous slope of 45 degrees, shown by Jackson in the clip Smooth Criminal. During his performance the body of the musician remained perfectly straight.

Indian scientists led by Manjul Tripathi decided to figure out how the pop king did this trick. First of all, the researchers analyzed the movements of well-known modern dancers and found that most of them are able to bend by 25-30 degrees, and a slope of 45 degrees contradicts all the laws of gravity.

Bend in this way Jackson allowed specially designed shoes. In the heel of his concert boots there was a special hole that connected with the fixture in the floor. So Michael was able to make incredible slopes.

Neurosurgeons, however, note that even with the help of such shoes, not every person can repeat the slope by 45 degrees – keeping the body absolutely straight when tilted was helped by well developed muscles of the back and legs. Scientists themselves, as well as a few fans of the singer, tried unsuccessfully to reproduce the trick.

Doctors warn that without special training, which the singer undoubtedly possessed, and equipment tilt in this way is dangerous – it can cause injuries, and the risk of ankle injury with such a slope is particularly high.
