Mozilla is preparing a new Scout browser with fully voice control
A family of Firefox browsers is preparing a replenishment, a special version called “Scout”, which will use a full-scale voice interface. It has not yet been announced, as long as it is only a leak from the intracorporate meeting, where Scout was shown to the heads of departments. While the system is raw and it has a number of restrictions for working with current platforms.
The leakage of Scout data is probably not at all random, but very much the opposite. Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple Siri – all major brands of the world are actively developing the direction of voice control. This is gadgets and interfaces, and search engines, and artificial intelligence. In Mozilla decided to keep up and make a browser in which all functions can be used with just the voice, without touching the keyboard and mouse.
The new browser is focused, first of all, on two categories of clients: businessmen and invalids. Scout not only accepts the user’s commands, but also actively responds to them, supporting the semblance of a working dialogue. Maybe, for example, check the mail, read the letter, dial the dictation of the answer, check the spelling. Start the search engine to find the necessary details for the message, voice the events on the screen for someone who can not look at it for one reason or another.
Similar functions can be offered by other voice assistants, but Scout, according to the data, will be the first commercial product in which all functions of the browser have been translated into voice control. A new level of human-computer interaction for working with the Internet – this will help Mozilla to strengthen the competitiveness of its products. The first version of Scout can be presented to the general public already by November this year.
